Sheri Hohmann is one of the Department of Pathology’s newest faculty members. Professor Hohmann joined the Medical Laboratory Sciences Division in August 2020 and holds the rank of Assistant Professor (Lecturer).
Professor Hohmann received her BS and MSPH from the University of Utah. She began working at ARUP in 1996, and fell in love with both laboratory medicine and teaching. She gained experience in many areas while working at ARUP, but mycology is her biggest passion.
In 2012, Professor Hohmann became an education coordinator at ARUP, and found that working with students was the most rewarding part of her career. She has loved being a part of the MLS Division, and said that being there and teaching has been a “bright, shining light” in a strange year.
Professor Hohmann has two teenagers that take up a lot of her time, and she also enjoys skiing, biking and walking her dog. She is hoping to be able to travel again soon, and her ultimate goal is to visit Antarctica.
