ARUP Laboratories
ARUP Laboratories was created in 1984 by the University of Utah School of Medicine's Department of Pathology faculty to support the academic missions of education, research, and service. ARUP's affiliation with the University was the first of its kind, and presented the unique challenge of balancing academic and business functions. ARUP's directive was to financially support the Department of Pathology by fulfilling the dual role of laboratory testing for University of Utah Health while at the same time aggressively pursuing research into the cutting-edge technology needed to establish ARUP as a leading national reference laboratory specializing in esoteric testing.
Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI)
Huntsman Cancer Institute encompasses cancer treatment and research. Patients come to receive medical diagnoses and treatment by University of Utah Health's specialized providers.
Eccles Health Sciences Education Building
The Spencer F. and Cleone P. Eccles Health Sciences Education Building is five-story facility with 158,000 GSF. Opened in 2005 with funding from the Utah State Legislature and gifts from the Eccles family, over 65 percent of the space in the EHSEB is instructional space. In addition, the building includes the health branch of the University Bookstore and The Point Bistro at the England Hub. The goal of the Spencer F. and Cleone P. Eccles Health Sciences Education Building is to provide a state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary facility, supporting world-class education programs.
Advanced technologies are integral to instruction throughout the facility. The most technologically intensive area in the EHSEB is the Clinical Suite. This facility consists of 18 fully equipped examination rooms, which are managed by a system that is capable of real-time digital audio and video recording in each room, saved to a large storage array. The system also handles scheduling and performance of students and standardized patients. The EHSEB is connected to and managed by the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library.
Intermountain Health Care (IHC)
Intermountain Healthcare is a Utah-based, not-for-profit system of 24 hospitals (includes "virtual" hospital), a Medical Group with more than 2,400 physicians and advanced practice clinicians at about 160 clinics, a health plans division called SelectHealth, and other health services. Helping people live the healthiest lives possible, Intermountain is widely recognized as a leader in clinical quality improvement and efficient healthcare delivery.
Emma Eccles Jones Medical Research Building (JMRB)
The Emma Eccles Jones Medical Research Building, opened in 2005, houses research laboratories and department offices for the departments of pathology and biochemistry. Funds for construction came from generous donations by the Emma Eccles Jones Foundation and ARUP. The EEJ building is in the southeast area of the U of U Health Center campus, directly east of the South Parking Terrace.
Jordan Valley Medical Center (JV)
Jordan Valley Medical Center is a 171-bed, state-of-the-art hospital located in West Jordan, Utah. Utah Office of the Medical Examiner (OME)
The Utah Office of the Medical Examiner opened a new facility in Taylorsville, Utah, on February 1, 2017. The 18,000+ square foot facility has a six-station morgue with an additional isolated autopsy station. As a statewide medical examiner system, this office covers the entire needs of the State of Utah and its population of over 3 million residents. The building is shared with the Utah State Crime Lab. Primary Children's Hospital (PCH)
Part of Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Children’s Hospital employs several professionals from University of Utah Health Care in pediatric medical treatment. It is located alongside University of Utah Hospital.
School of Medicine (SOM)
The University of Utah School of Medicine houses some of University of Utah Health's medical clinics and many of the medical school departments. It is attached to the hospital and a short walk from other buildings on campus.
St. Mark's Hospital (SMH)
St. Mark's Hospital offers a variety of services and specialties, including cardiology, orthopedics, women's health, high-risk pregnancy, senior health services, and more. With a 135-year history, St. Mark's has achieved numerous national recognitions, including being ranked in the top 10 percent of hospitals nationally for joint replacement surgery, pulmonary care, critical care, and general surgery.
University of Utah Hospital
U of U Hospital is the anchor point for University of Utah Health, which now encompasses four hospitals and 12 neighborhood centers. With roughly 1,000+ board-certified physicians, patients have access to 200 different medical specialties.
Health Sciences Building 379
The Health Sciences Building houses faculty and staff offices for various departments.
