Welcome Dr. Beth Doughty
The Department of Pathology welcomes Beth Doughty, MD, PhD. Dr. Doughty joined the Pediatric Pathology Division as the Associated Pediatric Pathology Fellowship Director and Assistant Professor.
Dr. Doughty studied biomedical engineering at Tulane University as an undergraduate student, and followed that with a PhD in spine mechanics at University of California, Davis. She decided that she preferred physiology more so than engineering, so she attended medical school and a post sophomore fellowship at University of Vermont. She completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Colorado in Denver, and finally came to the University of Utah for a fellowship in pediatric pathology.
Dr. Doughty was drawn to Utah by the mountains, and positive impressions from past and present trainees. She loved her experience during fellowship with the pediatric pathology group, and knew it would be a great place to build up her career, surrounded by supportive and fun colleagues.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, board games, reading, knitting and officiating gymnastics.
