Welcome Dr. Missia Kohler

The Department of Pathology is pleased to announce that Missia Kohler, MD joined the Anatomic Pathology Division as an Assistant Professor (Clinical). Dr. Kohler specializes in neuropathology and forensic pathology.

A native of the southeast U.S., Dr. Kohler arrives in Utah by way of Chicago, where she spent ten years training as a resident and fellow at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. She also completed an MBA specializing in Healthcare Management at the Loyola University Chicago Quinlan School of Business.

As a neuropathology fellow, Dr. Kohler worked under the mentorship of Qinwen Mao, MD, PhD, who later came to the University of Utah. She is looking forward to working alongside Dr. Mao as a colleague now.

Outside of work, Dr. Kohler enjoys spending time at home with her husband and her dog. She also runs, does Pilates, hikes, and watches a lot of SEC football.
