GI Pathology Fellowship Application

Requirements

Applicants must hold an MD degree, DO degree (or foreign equivalent with ECFMG certification), be board eligible or board certified in anatomic or anatomic/clinical pathology, and be eligible for a Utah state medical license.

J-1 Clinical Visa Unavailable

The J-1 clinical visa has historically been the standard visa for internationals entering training programs that require a medical degree. However, as of July 1, 2023, ECFMG announced that it will no longer sponsor J-1 clinical visas for non-ACGME-accredited programs. Per the University of Utah Office of Graduate Medical Education, "for the foreseeable future, programs that are not ACGME-accredited may not recruit or hire J-1 visa holders."
