The mission of the University of Utah Pathology Residency Training Program is to train exceptional board certified pathologists through flexible programs individually tailored to prepare the residents for careers ranging from combined AP/CP community pathology service to specialized academic research. The University of Utah Department of Pathology is dedicated to understanding the basis of disease, teaching others, and applying our understanding to improve medical diagnoses and treatment of patients. The research goal in the Department of Pathology is to extend our knowledge of the mechanisms of disease, especially at the molecular level.
